Hasselblad 500cm + Planar 80/2.8

Post by alexvaras »

Hello,

Here is the first roll, well, I can only post 2 pics, there is a light leak on the A12 film back (my first guessing) and only one picture it was done quick enough to not be affected, but Im pretty happy with the result.
I already bought the trap light seals so in about 3-4 weeks I will do a second test.

Are they light leaks on the back or something else?
Image

The only one which went fine, film is TRI-X 400 contrasty and little grainy comparing to my previous pictures.

Thanks for watching,
Alex

Now you are just making us all envious.

For the light leak, check the trap around the slot where the dark slide fits in.

This is in a different league from the folders, Alex! The Planar shows in the second image.

Hope you can catch that leak. Are there Russian lenses compatible with that body?

You may find lenses for the Kiev 88 will fit, but I'm not sure. You will need to do some research.

Im afraid they are not compatible, hasselblad lenses have the shutter (one of them) in the lens, kiev ones they haven't, I guess their shutter is in the body.
I will have to save if I want the 50mm or buy a macro ring for close-up portraits.
So far the first it's to deal with the light leaks...

When I first saw the photos on Flickr I thought maybe the roll wasn't good and tight when it was finished, Alex. But after a second look here I think James has the right answer. The light strike is a bit too well defined to be a loose roll. Well done on getting one of the premier cameras, and doing it proud with your compositions.

I received the new light trap seal, installed and here its a sample. I did it at home with all the lights on, but EV was 5.5-6, so I used my new cheap and light tripod with a 3D head, this first photo is at f2.8 and I did some more until f8 and 1 second, all with mirror look-up, it performed great, too dark anyway and with no natural light at all.
I did some other pictures at school at daylight so the new light trap seal is there, I guess one day I will have a surprise again so I got another set to install :D

On that commode I have the cameras with film inside and the fixing ones, Medalist II, Inos II and the Isollete III with new bellows waiting 24h to let the glue dry (already with film).

Thank you for watching and advices given.
