Mild Winter

Post by PFMcFarland »

There wasn't much snow this last season, and sometimes I had to drive around to find any. On this particular occasion I had loaded up a Ricoh GR1 with a roll of Tri-X 24 exposure because I hadn't used it in a long time. Good thing it has a lithium battery, as it still had lots of charge, and worked fine in the cold weather.

Can't say the same for my brain though. I didn't notice the aperture control dial was on f2 until I was a third of the way through the roll.

That was pretty extreme! I forgot about having to make sure the readouts in the viewfinder were visible by angling my eyesight, and didn't notice the blinking 1/500. I was more careful after that.

These hay rolls start to look like wheat biscuits after they have flattened out a bit.

The tree on the left didn't catch the one on the right as they are actually quite a few feet apart distance wise from this point of view.

Man may have made the trail, but the animals know how to take advantage of it.

Fine winter images. I like the rolls and the creek with falling tree.

We could make that happen, Graham. PM me.

When I saw the trees, I liked the framing right off, but then I looked at how it could be perceived as one catching the other that just made it all the more interesting.

I wish I hadn't wasted so many frames, as it was a short roll (24 exp).
