Budapest and Croatia, B&W

Often simply written as "W/NW" - your favorite photos. Explain them, or let your photos (film or digital) speak for themselves.

Budapest and Croatia, B&W

Post by Julio1fer »

I was "busy" most of September in vacations with part of the family. We rented a car in Zagreb and visited Budapest and southern Croatia, about 1400 miles total.

After agonizing as usual about cameras, in the end weight and size were the deciding factors. Took the Super-Isolette, Oly XA and the Canon G12, which was the main camera. Probably the G12 alone would have been enough, but I shoot film, so there.

All film was B&W: HP5+ in 120 and FP4+ in 35mm. A few images from film below, hope it is not too boring. Squares are 120 in the Super-Isolette, rectangles 35mm in the XA.

Tried to set up a slideshow but Photobucket seems to have crashed, so it will have to wait.

There is another set in digital which I stll have to review and select, took too many pictures!

Thanks for looking!

Your pictures are never boring Julio, I like them a lot and I hope there are more to come :)
The Dubrovnik harbour and dome are from Super Isolette?

Julio, I don't see any images, just placeholders. As far as I am aware, Photobucket no longer allow external links.

Julio, I can't see any photos either; I'll be very interested to see them later.

Hmm. I am going to move everything to Flickr and repost. Sorry!

Maybe they are restricting links, but I think there is something else now. I cannot even log in to Photobucket, or enter / check their site as an anonymous user. It seems that their site is down.

In any case I should leave this repository ASAP.

Moved pictures to Flickr, hope you can see them now. Confirmed that Photobucket is down.

Alex, the dome ("the Pile") in Dubrovnik was taken with the XA. The harbor of the old city on the sea is a slight crop of a Super-Isolette negative.

Everything visible now, Julio, though I wasn't logged on earlier when everyone else was.

Looks like you had a wonderful time on vacation. The XA is still working good, and it's hard to beat an Isolette for a travel camera in medium format. Those are some great photos.

Thank you, Julio, for these very interesting images of places I will probably never get to see for myself. Please explain the domed structure in the last image? It's nice to see an XA doing it's stuff!
