More B&W from my archives

Often simply written as "W/NW" - your favorite photos. Explain them, or let your photos (film or digital) speak for themselves.

Phil, Plus X was my most frequently used film back in the day - it was Eastman Plus-X motion picture stock ASA 80 in processed at a motion picture lab as "short ends". My 120 roll film choice was either Tri-X Professional rated at 800 in Acufine or Verichrome Pan rated at ASA 125 in D76. Nowdays, with Lightroom and the DXO plugins (Nik collection Silver FX Pro) there are so many possible variables that it is difficult to stick to one "look."

I was known to use a few rolls of Verichrome Pan myself, Graham. But by the time I got serious about medium format they quit selling it.

It was a wonderful, very under-rated film. It actually had a dual emulsion formula - there were both large (sensitive) halide crystals as well as small crystals, this enabled an expanded sensitivity range, designed to cope with the wide exposure range of the simple box cameras it was designed for. No thought was given to it's superb latitude and therefore enhanced shadow and highlight detail when used under controlled conditions. For weddings it was superb.
