Sorry about the stealing of your Yashica. I was in Quito many years ago and remember it as a safe place, but things are changing in our continent. That kind of robbery is common in Montevideo but they usually take cell phones from people waiting for their Uber or bus.
Those square shots are nice. That house was a TV studio?

Thanks for the comiseration
Yes, that was Teletortuga, channel 6 when I was a Kid.
The house was originally the Piedrahita family house, they owned all that land and
until the mid 1950s it was still agricultural (casa de hacienda) .
You can see it in the right corner in this pic from 1968 (by my dad or grand dad)

Going through memory lane... half of the city (looking North)
Quito desde el Panecillo-2019
The Cathedral
Main Altar
And the side of the Cathedral with an important part of our national chauvinism, the expedition that discovered the Amazon (Orellana, 1541) took off from Quito

The Cathedral, and the area around it, are some of the nicest places to visit in all of Andean South America. At least that is my recollection.
Waiting for your Quito memories to reach Guayasamin’s museum…
