Yashica 12 with Mark Hama service. 1st Roll test with Kodak Tri-X 400TX Professional ISO 400, 120mm, Black and White Film
I wanted to test if the light meter was working properly so I used it setting for all of those photo. So far all the photos turn out nicely. But I noted that in the dark area like underneath the Pier, I should adjust the setting a bit higher than the light meter suggested.

Outdoor on a overcast day.
Indoor night light.

Good examples. And yes, one needs to consider all the areas of a photo when figuring out exposures. You could have aimed the meter towards the underside of the pier, and used those settings. It all depends on what you want to show in the final product. I think the main focus is on the pier house, and using the underside of the pier for a meter reading would have blown out that part. Imaging software by Adobe and Corel would help to bring out the shadow detail, without ruining the exposure on the pier house.
One cautionary note. Since this is a leaf shutter camera, know that the mechanism is open to the environment. Repeatedly taking it to the beach (or any dusty place) will result in a return trip to Mark way before it should normally need it.
