P C, I cannot see the images in the links. Maybe the cost of the apartment blocked the transfer!

Two from a recent weekend visit to Buenos Aires, Argentina, on the tombs side:

I am using an iPhone 5, passed on from a son that got something newer.

I tried the minus.com links on three different devices using three different OS's; no luck. The account appears to be still alive - but no images load.

Min.us / Minus.com seem to have suffered from inadequate digital fixing. I can only access one or two of the 100's of images I uploaded there. Bit of a bummer, as the original photo service was actually quite good. Stuff that I don't put on Flickr now goes to Google Photos.

611 Returns from Radford, VA

I’m not a big fan of using a phone to take photos, but even I will admit it is handy to have when there is nothing else.

It’s Spring Steam time on Norfolk Southern, and the venerable, and recently restored 611 4-8-4 Northern was doing double duty this weekend, May 7th and 8th with two trips per day from Roanoke, VA. It made round trips as the “Powhatan Arrow” in the mornings to Lynchburg, then round trips in the afternoon as the “Pelican” to Radford.

One last weekend is scheduled for June 4th and 5th as the “American”, with round trips from Manassas to Front Royal. Only a morning run on Saturday, but morning and afternoon runs on Sunday.

The Cup is starting

I am sure that many Americans do not have the slightest inkling that the Centennial America's soccer cup is being played in their country, starting today,

But let me tell you, down here it is different.

Image

This guy dressed up as the "king of cups" in the Spanish playing cards, and was strolling around Montevideo's main avenue, fake cup in hand, boasting of the 15 America Cups won by Uruguay, and greeting everybody in the way. That light, sky blue is of course the color of the national side, the Celeste. His back reads "15 cups, Celeste Pride".

We all hope that he can keep his smile after our side plays Mexico next Sunday.
