For the sixth year running, The Great Road Encampment came to Elliston, VA for two days of displays, and demonstrations of the way life was in the late 1700’s along what would eventually become US-11.

I used two cameras, a Nikon N5005 with AF 35-80mm 1:4-5.6D, and a Zorki-6 with Industar-26M. Kodak films in both, Ektar 100 in the Nikon, and T-Max 100 in the Zorki.

Nice documentary, PF. It is great to keep history alive in this way, and it also seems it was great fun for children of every age!

Looks like a mighty warm day to be working a forge. Credit to the smith.

Thanks, all. It may have been hot working the forge, Robert, but he only did it when someone came around to listen. Most of the time he was just hanging out under the shade of his tent, which I could have used. I was there for three hours, and it was in the nineties the whole time, but with a breeze.
