Thanks James. EXIF says 1/250 at f/32 and ISO1600. Was the 70-200 and 2x TC on the 70D, which is a cropped sensor.

Very impressive. I got some shots with a 500mm, but there was some haze - no comparison with this.

i had been looking forward to the supermoon...and the the next night.....clear skies.it's all Donald Trump's fault.

I forgot about it, so I went out the next night and took a photo.

This is with an early autofocus lens - Vivitar Series 1 200mm in Nikon F mount attached to my Sony NEX-7.

Yes, I cropped it. By the way, the autofocus sometimes works when mounted to the NEX-7. I manually focused this one. Infinity was the correct distance setting.

Wonderful moon shots!

Here, the weather has been cloudy and foggy, like this, for days. No moon to be seen:

We had the super-moon, but it was things closer to earth that were focussing attention. Torrential rain on the Saturday, Mag 7.8 earthquake that lasted 2 minutes (!) midnight Monday, followed by 130kmh winds and a month's worth a rain on the Tuesday, a brief respite Wednesday then 110km/h southerlies.....

Still, we've got some new land now at the top of the South Island, as it has risen up 2 metres or so along the coast in places, and the sea bed has come up 3 to 5 metres in places. Oh, and the South Island is 2 metres closer to Wellington now Some of the sea life, like the crayfish and paua (abalone) are none too pleased, as they've found themselves on dry land.

I think someone blamed the super-moon somewhere.

PC, I read about the earthquake, but not all the rest. What a week!
