i was invited to a Garage Sale of the deceased estate of a Camera repairer and collector. the usual vultures just grabbed anything shiny, i took just a little time to have a look inside the never ready cases everyone seemed to be ignoring... and Voila! scored the ihagee and the bessamatic.leatherette is staring to come away...german glue and australian summers don't mix. but other than that the cameras are in very good condition.used but lovingly so.my friend Jose spied the Contax and gave it to me to have look at ,so i kept it with a cheesy grin and said 'thanks'.i bought him Coffee later though.Hcame away with a lovely little Rollei pocket camera.
And then i spied the Retina IIIc that people didn't seem to be able to open.....(amateurs)... i popped it open saw the lens and paid my money.
spend around 100AUS. did okay. the Ihagee was the star of the day though....so very Steampunk

That is an excellent haul for 100 AUS. Just that Exakta with a Biotar would made me happy at the price!

That is a nice group of cameras. All classic. Lots of metal and glass. Not a battery chamber in sight.

All of these cameras were built to last generations, as they most obviously have.

The Retina IIIc (small c) was one of my first classic cameras.

i still have the Contax that i bought of Papa Lester that came with 2 lenses. all tessars of varying Focal lengths.lovely set of cameras

Maybe the Bessamatic was a bit too high? Envy is preventing me from making any further comments...

I know how you feel, Kalle. I've got one each of those except for the Bessamatic. Damn fine set of cameras.

By the way, that's a Contaflex - not a Contax. AUS$100 for all four cameras is a great deal. And it's an amazing deal for the Retina.

Overall, I think the price of many classic cameras is down.

you are quite right. in my mind i saw 'Contax' despite reading 'Contaflex'
just this morning i read a sign at a gas station 'Foodies die Faster'
but i stopped and refocused and read it again, correctly as it said 'For Fast Foodies"

time to readjust my madications(sic) i think
