That looks to be a good spot for an Inn if you could get people moving along one of those roads. The buildings have held up pretty well it seems. Deserted villages get one thinking; the one I spent the first 14 years of my life is all cleared away and planted so only a few people know what once was there. Good photos to show what must have once been a fairly lively crossroads.

Thanks, Bill. Madison County is underpopulated, with only one incorporated town, and the things that used to attract tourists are no longer so attractive. People these days need to be connected to places other than where they are at the moment, so they can't bother with sparse cell coverage, and no WiFi. No one knows how to just be anymore.

Can't argue with that, but we also ought to be figuring out how to get rural folks connected, too, same as we did with electricity and the telephone.
