Just a few dos and don'ts:
  • Feel free to start any topic, although try to stay within the categories.
  • If you would like to see a new category created, please send a note to the Administrator ("admin").
  • No personal attacks. Keep the conversation civil. It's photography. It might be your passion, but keep don't let it become your life. Disagree if you must, but respect your fellow members.
  • Respect copyrights. It's OK to quote another site or review or statement, but make it clear that it's the writings or opinions of others.
  • Feel free to embed your own images or images of others (such as cameras) when you are trying to write something. For example, if you are looking for a Kodak Pony camera and you want to illustrate it, find and image of a Kodak Pony and say, "Here's a photo of a Kodak Pony that I found on the Internet." Don't pass off someone else's photo as your own.
  • Don't threaten anyone on this forum.
  • Don't hack this forum. That would not be cool.
HOW MUCH IS MY CAMERA WORTH?

While it would be better for you to join the community, the truth is that some people are just looking to sell a camera and want to know how much they can get. Forum members generally find it annoying when people sign up, merely to ask how much a camera is worth.

The best way to get a camera value is to look at recently completed sales on eBay. That will be a good guide. The prices might vary by a wide margin, but it will give you a ballpark figure on estimates.

Perhaps KEH would be a more trustworthy source of gear valuation than Evilbay?
