Hi all -
Have a trip coming up and decided to bring the Bronica. Started trolling for a second back, something I've been doing off and on for years. They seem to have accelerated in price lately, like most everything on the used market. Not sure who's buying at those prices... Anyway, while searching found a used 120 back from a reputable seller for a fraction of the price they seem to be going for. Took a chance. Seems fine, not beaten up, appears to work. Loaded up now to see how the seals are, but I already confirmed with John Goodman that he can still supply a kit for it. I never changed the seals on my original back a few years ago, so I'm hopeful.
Then, while looking for backs, found a 110/4 macro that I've been trolling for for a few years. Contacted the seller. It's well used so the price was good. Aperture ring is a little stiff, but works. Got it with caps, a bag, and a hood.
The whole kit, as it now stands - SQ-A, 80/2.8 S, 50/3.5 S, 110/4 PS Macro:

I'm hoping to burn this roll of film today and see how the back and lens fare. Gotta love GAS.

Now that's a set!
Hope that you get good results, and please let us know how it went.

Re: Bronica Bits
A fine looking bit of gear there, Scott. And if they had those batteries at CVS, you'd pay triple what they go for anywhere else. Have a great trip!

Thanks guys. More details about the trip forthcoming.
First roll through the new back was a success, but was also in a darkened room. I ran a quick roll through in the sun yesterday, got a lot of this:

So I got a hold of Jon Goodman and new seals for the back will be forthcoming tomorrow. I figured while I'm at it I ought to replace the seals in my "good" back, which is also old and used. Cheap insurance policy. The lens, clearly, is a stunner. Very happy overall.

Re: Bronica Bits
Hi Scott, last time I contacted Jon Goodman he couldn't send me the required foam seals because after the tsunami flood in Japan, his supplier had switched to plastics and didn't make the foam anymore. Does he have new supplies meanwhile?

Re: Bronica Bits
I have a Bronica S2a which has the infinity focus problem; this can be remedied by replacing some foam spacers under the view screen, and some foam bits on the mirror "stop." Simple enough, but I don't care to tackle it myself. Anyone any of you could recommend to do this, and perhaps a CLA?
Thanks!
Thanks!
