Autumn 2018

The first Sunday in November I took off on a drive to capture some nice seasonal color, but it was a week too late. I had been up in the mountains in the end of October, but only had B&W film at the time. But I made the most of my little trip, heading up through familiar territory towards Sweet Springs in West Virginia, then heading back south along WV-3, and US-219. I broke up the photos into six different sets because of the subject matter in each.

Nice series! Your Autumn light is so crisp and clear. There was some color left in the trees; even if you were late it comes through. And those baths are really intriguing, it must have been some project at the time.

What gear did you use for these pictures?

Thanks, Julio. You should have seen the places a week earlier. I used the Nikon D300s, with 18-105mm DX lens.

I'll have the paint Bank set, given the choice. Great stuff, Phil.

I like them all, Phil. A nice record of a tour. I agree with what Julio said about the crisp autumn light.

Thanks all. The main reason for the delay in returning with something to record the scenery in color was the weather, which happened to clear up the day I took my trip. Nothing like a cold front to sweep the skies clean.

Very nice pictures Phil, thank you for sharing them. I would like I have done the same going to parks this Autumn.
