Hi all,

Here it comes finally, first roll with Makina II and two lenses, first 4 photos with usual 10cm f/2.9 Anticomar (4/3) and last 4 with wide angle Orthar 73cm f/6.8 (2/2). Film Ilford Delta 100, D-76 11 minutes. Epson 4990.

Conclusions about the camera and lenses:
- Winter approved! Using gloves with it it's not a problem.
- Composing it's tricky with this kind of viewfinder, I need to get use to it plus it covers much more than you see through it.
- I like the tones of Anticomar but not the sharpness I got, mostly of them were shot at f/5.6. I might need to collimate again for the Rada film back.
- Wide Orthar exceed expectations, even the vignetting at the last picture is nice.
- Any suggestion/question from you after seeing the photos are very welcome.

Very nice results in the snow. Indeed the wide angle images seem a tad sharper, but the first 4 are also very good - the Kolomenskoe entrance is really sharp (and I like the picture, too).

Did you use a tripod? At 5.6 with Delta 100 you probably were at 1/60 or so.

I see nothing wrong with these, Alex. But then I don't have the negs right in front of me either. Looks like both lenses pair well with the camera, and your cold weather testing confirms the ergonomics of the design. Good work all around!

Thank you, Julio. No tripod, hand held and yes, 1/50 or lower due the cold. I'm going to lube this shutter in the places I think it needs and see the shutter performance when is this cold.

Thank you, Phil. But yesterday I found a better way to collimate the lens, I mean before I was measuring distances between the film location at the film holder and the ground glass, in this camera I have about 0.6mm of diference between them and I collimated the camera using the ground glass. I can't place shims in the ground glass to take it further back to align the film holder. The spring at the back door for using the ground glass doesn't allow me to do so.
This new way will be empting the roll film holder, place it in the camera and use a small matte glass to do all the process for this roll film holder specially after doing it adjust the rangefinder.
Yes I'm very "picky"? but if I can do it better why not going for it?
For the ergonomics, the first shots I was suffering a lot with the black slide thing, I didn't take it out completely so my right arm should avoid it meanwhile holding the camera for shooting, so far two ways of handling the camera, compisiong and focusing is one, shooting a bit different. One day I will try to remove the dark slide completely during the tour, I think the seals are good

Finally I got time to do it, new photos and I think this time I got it or at least very near.
