Leica and 'The Hunt' video

Post by melek »

This Leica marketing video was titled, "The Hunt."

This video was created to show that Leica cameras are used in all situations around the world. This video mentioned the Tiananmen Square incident in 1989, and it didn't take long before Leica disavowed the video. The video no longer exists online. Leica provides the lenses and technology for top-end Huawei smartphones.

I believe that Leica was banned from search results in China for a while, until Leica apologized.

Tiananmen Square is highly taboo in China, which suppresses all mention of it.

China doesn't come out looking good in this video. Someone captured the video, and here it is framed by another source.

Quite strange that they disavowed their Brazilian marketing firm in such short manner. Or maybe not.
