Welta Weltur - New bellows
Posted: Fri Dec 04, 2020 5:06 am
Hi all,
When some months ago I got a message from Sandeha saying me if I could handle the changing of bellows of a camera I felt honoured and overwhelmed. The job would require the dismantling of the frame that clamps the bellows to the body so some special tools would be needed.
I thought if he was thinking on me why I shouldn't try so he sent me the camera (the client is from Mallorca) plus one red bellows he had as substitute.
Red is good!
I kept the camera this way for months... always doing something different than repairs in summer time and we had a very nice autumn and then Covid.
Client was very comprehensive about the delays so I felt no pressure. Once weather was already dark by 5:00pm I entered in repair mode, I did a couple of easy things just to warm up and in a couple of weeks all this photos in the album happened.

Still the ruby window closing is still pending wondering if addressing it or not, advice here is needed if you read this the description of this photo.
Red ruby mechanism.
How the camera looks like now.
Camera almost finished.
I did the test roll and I'm pleased with the results.
A working day in the ponds.
Dark is the water under the ice.
A lost battle.
Pakkanen.

Pretty happy how all went with my first international repair, client is happy as well and I hope soon I can send him the camera back.
Winter gloves proof camera!
Thank you for looking.
Alex
