I visited Washington DC a few times in the early 00s with a Zeiss-Ikon Contessa.
I think this picture was from 2005-6 when the whole Naitonal Mall was under maintenance... somehow it feels relevant

I would change the title of your post to " USA closed for maintenance."

not sure , but being an outside observer with no participation I think this is all a big kabuki
sounds very similar to what happened in my country in the late 90s

We have these spats every so often. Many a time has come and gone with riots over one issue or another. I hope we can get through this period too with something good coming out of it.
