Winchester Cathedral roses...

Hi all -

I'm actively trying to make peace with the Seneca 8x10. I miss shooting actual large format (as opposed to 4x5), but the workflow has gotten sloppy in the years since I was doing this with regularity.

To wit: I set up this shot of some English roses today. Shot it twice at different apertures. Developed the first, and hadn't checked the background for anything light that would bleed into the exposure. Scrapped the second shot without developing (because, why?). Reloaded a holder and shot again. When I was pulling the sheet it was misloaded and wasn't under one of the holder rails. Scrapped that one. Reloaded, shot again, and finally was golden. Sheesh. Hoping the technique comes back to me at some point.

Anyway, Here's the result:

"Winchester Cathedral" English roses. Seneca Improved 8x10, Sironar-N 210/5.6, 18x24 UM-MA in HC-110 dil H (5:40 at 21C).

Thanks for looking.
Scott

Not quite like riding a bike, but it will come back to you, Scott. It's a beautiful final outcome.
