Rummaging virtually through the local online auction site a couple of weeks back, I spotted a rather interesting camera. My favourite type, being a MF folder, but one with a rather rare feature: brightlines in the viewfinder. Of course, I had to buy it!

What did I buy?

There can't be many of such models.
I havent seen one such camera, what is it?

It's got a rangefinder.

It was made prior to 1960.

And I think there were only 3 or four folding cameras so equipped.

(Glad I'm not the only one with this proclivity of late.)

Super Ikonta? 531 maybe?

Late versions of the Mine Six have framelines, the Pearl IV has framelines; the Super Pontura (I think it's called) even has parallax-adjusted framelines if I remember right

It is Japanese, and shoots 6x6 and 6x4.5.

More than good enough! This is not any old lens. But the India hint has got me more confused than before!

Aires Viceroy, mainly exported from Japan to India as I read.
