I thought I knew pain

I cut the grass and was sort of taking it easy before I jumped into the shower.
My back was a little sore, so I stood up, and then felt an all new kind of pain. I couldn't walk it off, and the pain got worse by a factor of about 1,000.
I can take a lot, but holy crap! - this took it to a new level. Intense pain in the my back, lower right and coming around the front. Tingling in my fingers. I thought I might pass out.
I had my appendix removed two years ago, so I knew it wasn't that.
After conferring with Nurse Kim (my sister - she doesn't know I call her that - she is longtime RN), we talked about it, and it is a kidney stone. She's a kidney stone veteran, as it turns out.
I'm currently drinking a lot of water and using heat packs. For those of you who have had kidney stones, I've felt your pain. And it wasn't nice.
