I had been saving a few pictures from a too short vacation in the Riviera Maya area, in southern Mexico, for a first travel post here.

Nice, Julio. Unknown father and son is very poignant. Those are magnificent parrots, and Cacao and chile is nice, too. Hell, I like them all. --- James

Hello, Julio,

Good to be looking at your work again. I like your beach shots; it seems like you have always been good at photographing near the water's edge. I was in Tulum about 14 years ago; thanks for the reminder of how pretty it looked.

Thanks, James and Dennis. The father and son picture would do well on Father's day. I do have an additional few, portrait-format ones.

Flaming tequila. I drank it later in the patriotic Mexican shot glass, with red and green colors. I still favor vodka lemonade.

I must say that instant feedback, variable ISO and auto-white-balance are a good compensation for not having C-41 film. The Canon G12 is a swell little camera; it made me forget I had brought the XA.

Julio, These are great. It snowed here yesterday and it is very, very nice to see that somewhere there are blue skies and warm water.
