In The County

Last of the photos from my latest trip home. Just some random stuff one sees as they drive around the back roads.

It doesn't look like much, so low on the horizon, with a roof that blends into the sky, and the fields of corn almost obscuring the view (luckily, it was soybeans on this side). The feed bins give it away as a large, high tech facility designed to get the most production out of the hens that reside there.

Greensburg, IN's latest water tower is way out by where Clifty Creek crosses Old US-421 and I-74. They built a small reservoir and treatment plant so they could pump water out of the creek for the city's use.

I've seen vehicles that have gone off-road by accident or on purpose into a corn field. They don't get far.

Well, this is something I didn't expect to see in my home county. I couldn't think of what farmer did good enough to build such a place. It had to be some contractor, or somebody like that.
But no, it does belong to a farmer. He just happened to own the land that Honda wanted to put their new assembly plant on, and this is the result of his family's good fortune. My nephews told me that the garage has a lower level, with an elevator to get the cars up and down. Nice.
