The 2015 Zeiss Art Calendar

The theme of this year's calendar is opera - specifically opera stars.

This year's calendar was shot by Toronto native Douglas Kirkland, a longtime photographer who got his start as a photojournalist with Life and LOOK magazines before becoming a Hollywood photographer. Kirkland is not a paparazzi. He works with Hollywood studios to take photos on movie sets. He has worked with everyone from Elizabeth Taylor to Bradd Pitt.

The middle video is an interview with Kirkland. He brought along a classic Hasselblad 500 C/M (I think) with a collection of well-used Zeiss lenses.

For the calendar, he shot with a Hasselblad H5D fitted with various Zeiss lenses.
