I hate being broke. ;(

Post by Captain Slack »

Went to the flea market yesterday with my wife and stumbled upon an Agfa III complete with Solinar lens for only $70... and I had to pass it up cause I don't have any money. *sigh* Was a hard decision, but the only one to make. Maybe one day I'll find a full time job again.

Just wanted to commiserate with folks who'd understand.

I've walked this road before. I got laid off for the second time in December 2012 - after one year and two days on a job that had a lot of promise.

The company (Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News) was sold. New management team arrived and "restructured." Short version: I was out.

I worked in West Virginia for about seven months and was off the job for long stretches after that ended.

I worked for the U.S. Postal Service for about four months - that was a rough job.

I got hired last May. I'm still recovering financially. Burned through a lot of retirement money.
