Lets see if it works this time:

A basic P&S with not many user controls, but a nice 35mm lens.

That's much better. I think the new text editor should handle copying and pasting better.

Anyway, the Ricoh is one of those cameras that you would find these day in a thrift shop, sitting among a bunch of other forgotten point and shoots.

It seems like it has a very sharp lens. Does it use AA/AAA batteries? Or one of those costly lithiums that are two AAs bonded together?

Two alkaline AA's, Mike. I paid all of $1.99 plus tax for it at the local Goodwill. It came with the lovely scarlet and grey piped case. The whole Ricoh 35mm AF series has good lenses. This one is 34mm/f4.5, 3 elements in 3 groups.

Very sharp, I am impressed. Is that Purgatory Creek shot a pano or a crop?

The one standing on the bridge (at the left) to the waterfall on the right (or second from the top here), Julio? Five shots stitched in PSE10 "Cylindrical".
