I won’t bore you with all the details here, but if you go to the link at the end you’ll find all the photos with commentary, and tag information. I needed an excuse to get out of the apartment one winter day, and the following is what happened.

Olympus OM-2n, Winder 2, Kodak Ektar 100, and Zuiko lenses of 28mm, 35mm, 50mm, 35~70mm, 35~105mm, and 65~200mm. Camera was over-exposing by a stop-and-a-half, so all photos have been corrected, plus some cropping. There was a winder fault halfway through the roll, so I had to remove the winder to complete the test. Photos taken in late January, middle February, and early March, 2015.

Well, plenty of shadow detail, at least, even if the exposures weren't exactly what you were looking for.

I have two OM-2ns at this point, one I bought on NFF, the other a hand-me-down from my father-in-law (it had belonged to his father-in-law). I had the latter one reconditioned and it works great, I quite enjoy using it. Hope yours is restored to fitness.

My GF is an OLY fan. Thank the gods she also loves Nikon men. ;) I have never owned one but I have handled hers and I like the feel The optics are top rate. You sure did justus with that testing.

Thanks, guys. Ron started me on the Olympus trail, and I just couldn't pass up making up a kit of the lenses, especially since they would work so nice on a full frame ILC later on. I've got more lenses than what was in the test, so those will have to be checked out on another body. Plus whatever I can get in the future, like a shift lens.

Those are really great images. I particularly like Save Cash, Green Pump and Buffeted by the Wind.

Very nice, Phil. Pre-Spring Rider is a pleasing composition. My 35-70 (the small one) is my favorite walk-around OM lens.

I've got both versions, James. Someday I'll have to do a comparison.
