I just got the Exakta mount to use my Exakta lens with my Olympus OMD EM5. People on flickrs shown a lot of good sample photos so I was very excited but I couldn't get it to work on my camera. Everything fit perfectly but I can't see anything through the lens. I click the shutter button but it doesn't work. I tried A and M mode. If anybody has experience using manual lens on micro 4/3 camera, please shown me

Thanks!

I use Rollei QBM and M42 lenses on my Olympus Pen E-PL1 and on my Sony NEX-7.
Show us how it looks mounted to your camera.
Start with the lens aperture wide open.

When I mount my lenses to a digital body, I just attach it to the adapter and then attach it to the body. I simply set both cameras to P(rogram) and start shooting.
As I change the aperture, the camera adjusts the shutter speed. Try opening the lens to f/1.9, and put your camera on P(rogram) and see what happens.
Also, go deeper into the camera's menu and see if there is an option that says something like:
"Release shutter if no lens attached."
My Olympus Pen doesn't have that option, but my Sony does, and I couldn't use the Sony with a non-digital lens until I selected that option.

Hoorray! It's working. I googled for two days and finally found a post that has the same problem. I guest the adapter I got wasn't well made and it didn't fit mechanically right. the male and female pin from the adapter and camera must line up perfectly for it to work. I turn it left and right a bit and it work. But it's still annoying. Will go out to test it tomorrow. I am so excited
