Birdsboro and a Rolleiflex...

Post by scott »

Hi, all -

When the kids were young and in preschool, I'd spend hours walking around Birdsboro, testing out cameras I'd worked on. Yesterday was no different, but it's been years. Maddie was with me, 70D in hand. Much more fun. I was putting a final roll through the latest project Rolleiflex (a "New" Standard model which I'd intended to sell) and wanted something other than yard fodder to shoot. Here's some of the roll:

And the end of the roll (which I will summarily post in that thread):

The camera's a winner. Loading's a little funky, missing the Automat functionality, but it shoots just fine. I'd intended to buy into a project 8x10 (again...) but I'm thinking I'll reskin this one and let Braedan have it. He enjoyed it in his photography class last term. Should probably keep it in the family.

Thanks for looking.
Scott

Nice pictures from what proves to be a great camera. I think it is indeed worth keeping in the family. Any pics of it?
Thanks for sharing.

This how it looked when I got it:

The glass cleaned up nicer than any camera I've worked on. Its a user, but should be presentable with a new covering.

Hah! it could indeed use a new covering! LOL
Anyway, everything else looks nice, so that a new leatherette will make it into a fine camera. Impressive that these things keep delivering so well, while many other cameras in that same condition have become junk. Well done.

Very fine images, Scott. Your repairs were done right. Ask Braeden if he would like some colored covering, like a red, or maybe a faux exotic skin.
