Hello, Phil:

You put together a fine documentary of that auto show; great job at isolating the individual vehicles-- that must have taken a little contortion. Do you remember if the "37 Sailing" in the post was a Plymouth? It reminds me of the '38 Plymouth which is the first family car that I can remember. More Chevrolets and Fords apparently at the show, though, than Plymouths? Bill D.

Yes, Bill, 37 Sailing is in fact a Plymouth. I came up with the title from the ship logo on the radiator. We also had a 38, and it in no way ever looked as good as that 37.

I keep my head on a swivel when I'm doing car shows because you never know when you'll get a clear shot at something over in the next row. By the time you walk over there, some couple will stroll right into the middle of the scene, and just stand there like they have nothing else to do. So I'm using the zoom quite a bit to eliminate any clutter around the subject, and to give it a better look. I also use the articulating screen on my P7700 to get down low, high, or even around corners. It helps to be able to put the screen in a position where I can see it, no matter the sun angle behind me.

Very nice.... it is hard to shoot in car shows, I have resorted to detail shots (mostly)
