Leica joins the CSC crowd

Leica has introduced the
Leica T system. So far, just two lenses. While the APS-C body doesn't have a viewfinder, it is selling one that slides into the hot shoe. Plus, it will offer its own branded M=>T lens adapter.
I haven't seen the price, but it probably is more than some (most?) of us can pay.
It is very German in its approach. Just a few buttons and dials. Nearly all of the functions are via the touch interface through the main screen.
Some cool features:
- 3.7 inch screeen
- 16GB built-in memory. You can also add a memory card
- The body is cut from a single block of aluminum
- Four colors: melon, yellow, orange-red and black.
- A "T Flap," which looks like a silicone covering that covers the top and back of the camera while letting the photographer take photos.

...whereas a tea-flap is an Englishman's upper lip.
Even had I the money, I'm uncomfortable without a viewfinder.

I'm sure it will perform well, but it is downright homely. Hard to tell what market it is designed for.

Looked it up in B&H:
Body without lens, $1850
Visoflex viewfinder, $595
M-lens adapter, $395
18-56 zoom, $1750 (this is the cheapest lens)
23mm lens $1950 (is this a normal?)
For comparison, the Leica M9 body is $6950 in Adorama.
As James said, what is the market for this? I do not get it, maybe I have not yet reached L-enlightment.

Nice chunk of aluminum. I don't want to be negative, but no image stabilization in 2014 and at those prices?

Cynical me says that since it's got the red dot on the front, it's actual price, spec or capabilities are largely irrelevant.

It must be that red dot then, and I must be getting daltonic in my old age.
