Has anyone tried doing C 41 developing ?
There is only mail order service here, all the local labs have gone away. I have tanks and spools on hand and a place to do it at home.
I found chemicals on line so may give it a try??

I do my own C41, with Tetenal kits. I get quite a buzz out of it. The one-litre kit suits me. It has a nominal capacity of 12-16 rolls, but people at Flickr claim they get a lot more than that. There's a lot of discussion at the 'DIY colour' group.
I use a big plastic bowl of warm water to bring the solutions up to temperature, and keep a kettle of hot water ready for adjusting it. Only the first step, the developer, is critical for temperature anyway.
I filter my solutions if they've sat unused for a while, but I don't think most people do that.

I've also used the Tetenal kits. It's pretty straightforward, and I've got some decent results from it. Here is one:
