Camera Talk

First roll in the Rolleicord V (Pan F+ in Beutler). Overcast skies, so struggling a bit with exposure. I confused several times the winding and focusing knobs, and the lateral release movement is awkard for slow speeds. Focus is easy, and the camera is nice to handle once the quirks are known.

Some of the results follow. First, the Famous Fishing Boats in Buceo harbor.



A fancy hotel in Carrasco, among decay signals and palms. Shot at 1/60 hand held, should have gone faster.



A nod to P.C. Headland. Window in a "House of terror" in a venerable attractions park.



Sleeping beauty (mother in law). This one was shot at 1 second at f3.5, camera over a table. The lens performs well at full aperture.



Now I know that the Rolleicord is clean and ready. I will have to get used to its handling and avoid confusions with the Autocord, but both make a nice couple. I still have some Pan F+ and HP5+ to burn but the supply is dwindling.

Very good results, Julio. I too have trouble with grabbing the wrong knob when using my Super Ricohflex, or Yashica 635, though at least the 635 has a lock so you don't accidentally turn it. That's what I like most about a crank film transport, not having to worry about such things.

Indeed I find the Autocord easier to use than this one. My previous TLR, an Ikoflex, had the winding and focusing knobs in different sides.

No big deal, but I did move the focus when I wanted to wind instead. I hope to get used to the 'Cord, I like this lens.
