Epson V600

Post by r-brian »

I've been looking at scanners for my Christmas present. Just ordered an Epson V600, refurnished from Epson Clearance Center for $145, $50 cheaper than anywhere else I've looked. With free shipping and everything in the box that comes with a new one, including supposedly PS Elements.

Just in case anyone else was looking to get one.

Congratulations!

I've used a V600 for several years now, with excellent results, especially in MF. However I've never used PS Elements, only GIMP.

My only complaint is that the scanner software does not allow for auto frame selection ("miniatures") for half-frame in 35mm. I understand that there are third-party providers that would do the trick but I don't really shoot that much half-frame to justify the cost.

Epson refurb is the way to go. I've saved a lot of money that way.

I agree about buying refurbs.

I have bought a number of refurbished products direct from the manufacturer and so far haven't had any problems. My reburbs from this century: Olympus E-Volt 500, Olympus Pen E-PL1, Sony NEX-7.

I saved a lot of money on each of them.

Yeah, I've never had a problem with refurb equipment; my original Epson 2450, Nikkor 18-70 DX, and my new D610. Definitely cheaper than paying retail.
