Happened again.





Bolsey Model C, 35mm coupled rangefinder with waist-level finder (yep - a TLR). It's a basket case. Not sure if it's salvageable. BUT - it was $15. Found a little place nearby Maddie that an older former-pro commercial photog is selling off little knick knack collection items, such as this (and a Retina IIIc, and a Nikkormat, and...). I will be going back and wasting more money, I am sure.

Going to be laid up for a while in about five weeks, so this will be a diversion at that point. The aperture works, anyway! The helical focus, on the other hand...

What a funky little guy. Should make a diverting project while you recuperate. I once refurbished a Kodak 2D while waiting out the results of foot surgery. Both the camera and the foot are fine, and I didn't lose my mind in the process, so I hope the same for you!

Definitely mint -. There are a bunch of peculiarities with this thing, some things I thought were broken may just be idiosyncrasies. I love the idea of a tlr 35mm!

This is the third surgery on the same knee in a year, fourth surgery in less than two. Too young for these things to be wearing out already. Camera repair, mandolin practice, One Piece for recovery.

Holy cow, that really bites! I mean, wow. Best wishes for a speedy -- and complete -- recovery.

FWIW, I had a similar injury to my other foot this year, but so far (knock on wood) not requiring surgery. Not healed yet, but getting slowly better. Price of an active lifestyle, I guess (both ultimate frisbee-related injuries. Yes, at my age ) , just have to keep moving somehow despite my otherwise sedentary tendencies.

Sounds like you have a good plan for the downtime. Good reminder that: I should restring my mandolin and mess around with it some more one of these days.

Yeah, stuff they don't tell us about aging. Trying to stay active, which is why I did these things now instead of in 20 years. Keeps going downhill, lol.

Why does it not surprise me you have a mandolin? I picked up an Eastman three years ago, Have been "playing" guitar 40 years, though after the table saw incident playing went way down. Again, life changes have allowed me to pick it up again. Always wanted a mandolin (grew up on Flatt and Scruggs and John Denver). Also working on that now - doing these exercises for now. Taught myself guitar, I'm sure wrong, and figured learning correctly would speed the process. Going really well - I get up to speed, we'll have to get together and play sometime!
