Rose and I both got our V700s many years back I can't speak for her but I use the dookie out of mine.

Larry, for that price I bet you got it from someone in Florida?
I have the V600 and I am very happy with it. Have been using the Epson scanning software that came with it and which performs well, but I wonder if VueScan or Silverfast might be better and/or more intuitive to use. I downloaded trial versions of both last year, but could not decide. I'd rather spend 100 bucks on a camera wreck than on a volatile software download that might not add much to what I have now.

I use epson Scan too I tried the others and they were not much improvement. And no it was not Florida. ;)

As for post processing I use Elements 7 and also GIMP.
If we all saw the world the same no one would need a camera.

Never tried GIMP. I use Elements 9 (it came free with the V600 and I sold my paid-for copy of PSE9 on the bay, hehe)
When I'm rich I will perhaps buy Lightroom. I do quite some color to b/w conversions. Now I have the free Elements+ plug-in which has a channel mixer - works well too.
