Cape Town Docks 1966
These images were taken in 1966 in Cape Town docks. It was a very dull and rainy winters day. The camera was a Nikon F plain prism fitted with a Nikkor-H 50mm f2 lens. Film was Eastman motion picture stock ISO 80 processed in Accufine and rated at ISO 400. I scanned the negs on my Minolta Dimage Scan-Elite 5400 scanner. Please forgive the scratches and dust marks. Fantastic!
The one with the two women and the man looks like some sort of advertising shot, the way that they're posed.

What a nice series, Graham! 1966 doesn't seem as long ago as it is.

Julio, as I commented on my Flikr image, the Harbour Cafe was famous for it's seafood, especially Cape Lobster. We used to go there for supper with a group of friends at least once a month back in those days. When marriage and children came along, we couldn't afford it. These are wonderfully composed. Further, they have an extraordinary atmospheric quality to them. Were it not for the date, some of the ships might have been headed to Casablanca to get Rick and Elsa.

Fine photos! I'm struck by how you made the subjects, the light, the film, and the processing all work together to make an impressive series.
